Hertford Wellbeing Church

Our Mission

Community

The first commandment Jesus gave us is to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. The second commandment was to love our neighbour as ourselves. We created a community here at Hertford for young adults, regardless of who you are, where you come from or what you believe, to help be a shining light to the people around us, so that the world knows that we’re disciples of Jesus Christ, the one true living God.

We encourage embodying the sacrificial love Jesus had for us in our daily lives, by making efforts to support those in our community, whatever season of life they may be in, and to be accommodating to those who want to be involved, in truth and love.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

John 13:34

‘Iron sharpens iron and one man sharpens another.’

Proverbs 27:17

Teaching

We believe that fellowship among brothers and sisters outside of the church on Sundays are essential, and we find that good discipleship among young adults is especially lacking. Many times, young adults are unable to find other people their age who are on fire for God, or are willing to put in the work to grow their faith, resulting in zeal for the Lord without guidance.

We want to fill that hole by raising up faithful and serious followers of Christ, who are able to share the Gospel with anyone they meet, make disciples of others, and live a life dedicated to the Lord. In addition to this, we want to prepare them for the next stages of life, so they can continue in fruitful walks without our assistance.

Outreach

God calls everyone, including us, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with our neighbours. We teach one another how to evangelise to their family and friends, so that everyone is able to make a strong case for believing in Christ, while also being able to deliver it in a way that convicts the heart of sin, and relieves it with the grace of God.

We like to practise this ourselves, going out and proclaiming God’s good news while inviting our friends to join us, so that they can apply what they learn and sow the seeds of faith to others. It can be difficult to approach strangers to tell them about Jesus, but having friends by your side helps with overcoming that fear and allows us to be more fruitful.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 28:19
